We started going to St. Teresa’s because of the 9:00 A.M. Sunday children’s mass. Our daughter Andrea and grand daughter Adele started spending their summers in Chicago about eight years ago when and we’d attend together.
Siga and I were struck by the friendliness and acceptance of the people we met, and liked the intimacy of the church and liveliness of the mass. Over the summer, we were also impressed by the strong emphasis on the mission of the Catholic Church as demonstrated by such activities as the “Loaves and Fishes” dinner for the homeless and the food pantry.
By the time my daughter went back home to New York, these factors led Siga and I to continue going to the children’s mass and becoming accepted and active members of our new parish, Saint Teresa of Avila.
